Making May Baskets

This is an old custom to celebrate May. Purchase some cut-out doilies from the craft store or cut out 12- inch circles out of other paper. Roll the doily or paper circle to form a cone. Glue or staple the sides together. Staple a strip of paper on each side for a handle. Pick some garden flowers or purchase some at the market. Cut the stems so the flowers will fit into the paper holder. Sneak onto your neighbor’s or family member’s porch, hang the May Basket on the door knob, ring the doorbell and run and hide. They will be surprised with your gift of a May Basket.
