House Blessing
Instructions
Clean your house from top to bottom. Recycle what no longer serves you. Fix any broken items. Light a candle and have a bowl of water ready in the Center, the Heart, of Your home. Play your drum or an improvised drum throughout your home. Say, “Out, out, whatever does not belong here. I send you to the Light.” Go to each room and open each closet. Return to the Center of Your Home. Bless the water and take it into each room sprinkling a bit in all the corners and marking a cross or “X” or spiral on all the windows and mirrors. Return to the Center of Your Home. Carry the lighted candle into each room saying, “This home is filled with Light. Love and Light dwell here forever.” Return to the Center of Your home. Say a blessing for your home and all who dwell there. Blow out the candle and take the remaining water in the bowl to your front doorstep. Pour it over your threshold to bless and protect your home. Be grateful for your home and all that home means to you.
This is a great family activity to do once a year.
