The Colors of Nature

Instructions

This Easter, or any other time of the year, hard-boil eggs and let them cool. Go out in your backyard and pick some colorful plants or use vegetable peelings. Boil water and pour over the plants to leach the color from them. When colored water is cool, dip the hard-boiled eggs in. You might need to leave the eggs in the natural dye longer for a deeper color. It’s fun to experiment with different plants and flowers. The colors will be more subtle than commercial Easter egg dying kits. Thank the plants for sharing their beautiful colors.
