Spiritual Life Counseling Program
New Classes Begin: To Be Announced. Click the Button Below for More Information.
The Spiritual Life Counseling Program is a two and a half year educational study and hands-on training program for students interested in earning a Certificate in Spiritual Life Counseling.
The program is based on the premise that most every day living challenges are a diminished connection with the spiritual aspects of a person’s life. The counseling training is deep-listening based and assumes the person already has the resources within to understand and reconnect with his or her spiritual self to bring harmony and balance back into life. This counseling method is not therapy and referrals are made for more assistance. The certificate program consists of a number of classes and one workshop each year. Each class is a six-week learning opportunity that provides you with the necessary knowledge and skill to assist you in the spiritual counseling of others. Students currently enrolled in or who have previously completed the Ministerial Program may apply completion of similar courses to this certificate program.
Additionally, two Practicums are required for all prospective graduates. These Practicums are a six-week service to an approved organization such as the Spiritual Awareness Center or an appropriate non-profit organization in your community.
The cost of the Spiritual Life Counseling Program is $60 for each six-week course payable in advance per course. Workshop fees are $20. The purchase of required textbooks will be the responsibility of the student.
Candidates for certification will have successfully completed all course work, workshops, and two practicums. Application for certification is made by letter to the Council of the Spiritual Awareness Center with a recommendation by the Dean.
To apply to the Spiritual Life Counseling Certificate Program: send a letter of application, a current resume, and two letters of reference, along with a non-refundable application fee of $10 to Reverend Dr. Arlyn Macdonald, P.O. Box 804, Montrose, CO 81402-0804.
