Bring harmony and peace into your life through meditation.
Meditation #1 (June-Eating Meditation): For at least one meal a day for this month, give yourself more time to relax and enjoy your food. Put down your fork or spoon between bites and savor the different flavors of your food. Admire the shape of your food (the fruit, vegetable or protein) before you used it to prepare your meal. Select one part of your food and imagine where it was grown and many people it took to bring it to your table. Give thanks to Mother Earth for nurturing the food that is now nurturing you. Bless your meal before and after you eat.
Meditation #2 (July-Freedom Meditation): Freedom is a state of mind, but we often feel trapped or caged by our perceptions. For this meditation, close your eyes and take a few deep breaths. Picture yourself as an animal in a cage. It doesn’t matter what kind of animal. Feel yourself stepping into that animal as it paces and rages against the cage. Take another deep breath and see the cage door opening with freedom beckoning to you. Take a step out of the cage into the forest of freedom. Feel how good the sensation of freedom fills your whole body. Now turn and see the cage disappearing into nothingness. You are free. You have always been free. Take another deep breath and return to your safe place, feeling the joys of freedom.
Meditation #3 (August-Become Your Own Best Friend): Take a few deep breaths and be centered. Reach out your hand and take the hand of your inner child. Hold your inner child’s hand gently for a few moments. Now reach out and bring your inner child into your arms and hug your inner child. Feel so much love for your inner child that it brings tears to your eyes. This part of you needs your love every day. Sit with your inner child beside you for a while just being together. Smile at your inner child and promise to return soon. Take another deep breath and return to your safe place feeling happy and joyful and filled with love for your precious self.
